Schools set for Charity Challenge 19 March 2008

Schools in the Isle of Man are set to win cash for their favourite overseas charities.

Sixth formers from four high schools - Castle Rushen, St Ninian's, Ballakermeen and Queen Elizabeth II - and King William's College will take part in the 2008 Charity Challenge at the Manx Museum in Douglas on Monday 21 April.

They will give multimedia presentations on how the work of a charity of their choice has affected the life of a child in the developing world.

The challenge is organised by the One World Centre and is supported by the H&S Davidson Trust, which will distribute £4,000 in prize money to the best performing teams, to go to their charities.

The charities represented must be Manx and working overseas or supported by the Isle of Man Government's overseas aid budget.

A panel of 10 judges will decide how the money is divided up at the invitation-only event.

For more information, contact Katie Keenan at the One World Centre on 825464 or email here.
