Isle of Man Welcomes MS Delphin Cruise Ship 12 August 2009

The Isle of Man is pleased to welcome the splendid MS Delphin which is the next cruise vessel to visit our shores. The ship is due to arrive at the Douglas anchorage from 12.00 to 20.00 hours on the 13th August.

The vessel will bring 432 passengers who during the afternoon will set off on tours of the Island which will include Cregneash, Castle Rushen, Tynwald and Laxey.

The call of this German cruise liner on the 13th August will be the fourth visit of the vessel to the Island which has previously visited in 1997, 1998 and in the year 2000.

Geoff Corkish MBE, MHK, and Political member for the Department of Tourism and Leisure, has welcomed the return of the MS Delphin. He said: ‘In recent years the Island has played host to many calls from German cruise liners and the Island has become a popular destination from this market. No doubt the high profile the Isle of Man enjoys in the German speaking world, and the television coverage primarily related to motorsport the Country receives, has had a 'knock on’ effect. ‘

We look forward to hosting more and more cruise liners who find our Island so welcoming and a worthwhile destination to visit.’
