External Surveillance Cameras on Island's Buses 1 March 2013

The Data Protection Supervisor served an enforcement notice on the Department of Community Culture and Leisure (DCCL) in November 2012 in respect of the use of external surveillance cameras on buses and compliance with the Data Protection Act 2002.

DCCL has appealed this Enforcement Notice to the Data Protection Tribunal and a hearing is scheduled for late April 2013. However, as images are continuing to be recorded, the Supervisor has issued a press release to make the public aware of this processing.
