Hosepipe Ban Over 14 November 2003

The hosepipe ban has been lifted today by the Water Authority.

The Authority introduced the ban on 9th October when water supplies in the Island’s reservoirs were unusually low. However the recent changes in the weather, more specifically the heavy downpours of rain, plus the long-range weather forecast have enabled the hosepipe ban to be lifted with immediate effect.

Patrick Heaton-Armstrong, Water Authority Chief Executive, said,

“We would like to thank everybody for their help and co-operation which has helped to conserve supplies. We should warn customers that water quality may be poor whilst reservoirs recover their normal levels and we are appealing for their understanding during this period. Naturally we will do everything we can to keep such instances to a minimum.”
