NSC Hosts Charity Fundraising Event 19 December 2007

The NSC staff hosted a charity fundraising event on the 13th December to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Over fifty members of staff participated in this fun packed event involving team races in the NSC pool water. It involved four large teams of staff pulling and pushing Santa Clause on a floating raft for a full hour.

Whilst this was going on the teams were being bombarded by wet sponges from the sidelines. Staff also had to race down the slides in an attempt to gain more points for their team.

NSC Centre Manager Carl Glover commented:

‘This was a fantastic event initiated by the NSC pool staff and I would particularly like to thank Debbie Barron and Paddy McBride for the tremendous effort they have put into organising it. Several hundred pounds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association has been raised but the exact figure is still to be established as sponsorship money is still coming in.’

In addition to the NSC pool event, the Department of Tourism and Leisure Staff at St Andrews House had a collection and the amount raised has been added to the NSC overall total.
