NSC Squash Centre




Information

The Centre has six squash courts, four of which incorporate coloured plastered walls and floor designs on the natural beech flooring. Four of the courts have glass backs.

Book up to seven days in advance by telephone or in person at NSC main reception. All sessions last 45 minutes. Discounts exist for Resident Discard holders (Applications forms available from NSC Main reception.).

Note that training shoes must be worn at all times on the courts. No black or marking soles. No drinks to be taken onto the courts, at any time.

Squash rackets may be hired from the Centre or provided by each individual player. Squash balls may be purchased at the main reception.

All personal belongings to be stored in the lockers provided. A 50p coin will be required, though returned after use.


Squash League

How to Join
Simply, give your name contact details and level of play to our reception staff. At the end of the next league period your name will be added to leagues displayed on the notice board in the Squash centre.

Format
The league will be split into Winter and Summer leagues. Winter is October through to April. Summer is May through to September. League ladders regularly update with prizes offered to the winner of each league at the end of the season.

Who Can Play?
Suitable for Squash players aged 16 years or older, who are keen to improve their playing technique. (The Structured League System matches players of similar ability.)

Racketball
Racketball equipment is now available to hire from the main reception and is charged at the same rate as Squash.




Location

In Pulrose, near Douglas on the east side of the island.

By Vehicle:
Travel to Douglas and then follow signs to Pulrose.

By Bus:
Douglas can be reached by most main bus routes. Buses passing through Pulrose are 1, 1C, 2, 4, 4B, 14.

By Railway:
By Electric Railway, take the trams heading to Douglas. Then walk along the promenade to town to Lords Street. Continue along Lords Street as it turns into Peel Road and then continue on it to Pulrose, about a mile.
(Note: It is a long walk, there are always buses and in the summer a regular service by the Horse Drawn Trams.)

By Steam Railway, take the train to Douglas and then walk along Peel Road to Pulrose, about a mile away.
