HistoryInside a small building next to the Chapel of St John lies the Tynwald Museum (also known as the Tynwald Exhibition). Within it the historical sites around St John are explained through information boards, photos, and displays.LocationThe Tynwald Museum is located in the village of St John near Peel in the midwest part of the island.By Vehicle: St John is near Peel along the A1. By Bus: St John can be reached by the following bus routes: 4, 4A, 5, 5A, 6, 6A, 6B, 7A, 8, 10, X5. Travelling from Douglas, Peel and Ramsey. By Railway: St John is not accessible by the Railways. The SiteVisiting Tynwald MuseumThe story of Man is not completely without a look at this small museum, though not an official site it is well worth visiting. The Tynwald site model is very well done and gives a glimpse of what the area looks like when the tent for Tynwald Day is up. The large aerial view photograph gives a complete look of the site, which might not otherwise be appreciated. For those with a little imagination, try out the same formal red chairs guests of honour use when they attend the proceedings on Tynwald Day.Related News Articles
