Giant's Grave

History

A Bronze Age grave from around 1000 BC. The burial cist was once covered by a circular mound. It is now exposed on one side, due to a road which has cut through the site. Most of the monument remains covered by a raised ground bank. The site was restored in 1954.

Location

Giant's Grave is located about 30 yards along the road to Ballig. Close to Tynwald Hill in the village of St Johns near Peel in the midwest part of the island.

St John is near Peel along the A1.

By Bus:
St John can be reached by the following bus routes: 4, 4A, 5, 5A, 6, 6A, 6B, 7A, 8, 10, X5. Travelling from Douglas, Peel and Ramsey.

By Railway:
St John is not accessible by the Railways.
