New Year Bus Services Annouced 16 December 2009

The Department of Tourism and Leisure is pleased to offer Island residents three New Year’s Day bus services. The services, which are in partnership with the Department of Transport and the Department of Home Affairs, follow the success of last year’s anti-drink driving campaign and are scheduled to leave Douglas at 1.15am on 1st January 2010.

Department Member with responsibility for Public Transport, Mr Graham Cregeen, MHK commented:

‘These services offer a safe, convenient and inexpensive way to get home after a great night out this New Year’s Eve. For just £5 you can get home safely and because they leave Douglas at 1.15 am you have lots of time to enjoy your celebrations.’

The Isle of Man Constabulary will once again be supporting these services by providing Special Constables on each bus.
