Isle of Man Film
Isle of Man Film, formerly known as the Isle of Man Film Commission, was
first set up in 1995 as part of the Isle of Man Government's economic
diversification policy. The Isle of Man has proved itself one of the busiest
areas of film production in the British Isles. Isle of Man Film (wholly
owned by the Isle of Man Government) acts as an equity investor in film
and television, in partnership with the local treasury and investment
partners CinemaNX.
Together their objectives are to actively promote the Island's film
industry. They also market the Isle of Man as a film location at major film
industry events. Encourage the use of and employment of Manx film workers
and the use of ancillary Manx services.
In addition to the discretionary financial support offered, Isle of Man Film
also assist with the logistics of production on the Island. Since 1995 they
have amassed a wealth of practical media experience and can assist with
organising film crew accomodation, production supplies, crew and facilities
and locations. This includes the use of the Island's purpose built film
studio in the north of the Island.
